Best known for a string of 1970s hit collaborations with Michael Henderson, Jean Carne and Phyllis Hyman, like “You Are My Starship,” “Valentine Love” and “We Both Need Each Other,” he charted six consecutive Top 40 R&B albums between 1975 and 1980.
Through 1988, he notched nine Top 30 R&B hits, and remains active recording and performing. He has been working on a new album called Royalty, and is doing shows with folks like Marva King and Bobby Lyle.
