Since the late 1970s to present day, in both the studio and on the stage, he has worked with an impressive list of funk, soul and hip hop artists. They include B.T. Express, Change, Harry Belafonte, Keith Sweat, Amy Winehouse, Nas, Anthony Hamilton, De La Soul, Taylor Dayne, GQ and James J.T. Taylor. 
He also worked major stage musicals like "Your Arns Too Short to Box With God" and "The Wiz," and served as musical director for the house band on TV’s “Showtime in Harlem.”

First appearing on Randy Jackson’s 1989 album Randy & the Gypsys, he founded SlapBak in 1990 and two years later delivered the debut LP, Fast Food Funkateers, which included guests Larry Blackmon of Cameo, George Clinton and Bootsy Collins. Since then, the band has performed relentlessly and released more than 10 albums.
