Featured in TIR Episode 241 (Part 1 of 2): Musicians Timmy Allen (bass), Toby Johnson (drums) and Rick Brennan (vocals & percussion) — all of whom have been members of the popular 1980s R&B & dance music collective known as Change.
Between 1980-1984 the group scored five straight Top 40 U.S. R&B albums, from which five Top 25 U.S. R&B singles charted. Those hits included “A Lover’s Holiday,” “Searching,” “Paradise,” “The Very Best in You” and “Change of Heart,” which was produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
Change also topped the U.S. Dance music chart with “The Glow of Love.” The group delivered a comeback album in 2018 and continues to perform today. Special thanks to Jieron Baltazar and Kristin Johnson for helping set this up.
