Beginning in the late 1970s at Cincinnati’s Fifth Floor Recording Studios, he worked with some of funk’s top artists, including Bootsy Collins, the Ohio Players, Junie Morrison, Midnight Star, Dayton, Sun and Slave.
He went on to handle sessions for Spyro Gyra, Bon Jovi, Rick Wakeman, Erick Sermon, New Edition, Shaquille O’Neal and others. Plus, he shares an amazing story about recording Prince and Sheila E back in 1983.

The group rocked radios, clubs and parties across the nation with the 1984 classic, “Jam on It” and also gained notoriety with tracks like “Jam on Revenge (the Wikki-Wikki Song),” “Computer Age (Push the Button),” “Destination Earth” and “Automan.”
Newcleus has continued to perform and a couple of years ago dropped the “Summer of ‘79” single. Here, Cozmo lays down some serious hip hop history and knowledge.
